Imre Makovecz (1935 - 2011) was one of the most prominent proponents of organic architecture. As such, his buildings attempt to work with the natural surroundings rather than triumph over them. Frank Lloyd Wright and Rudolf Steiner are both strong influences, as is traditional Hungarian art. (x) The full extent of Imre Makovecz's significance will be evaluated by generations to come. In this book, we highlight those values in his life's work, with which he contributed to the building of Hungarian society. (Ervin Nagy, architect) When we began to put together the original Hungarian version of Makovecz - A Guide to Organic Architecture in 2011, we had no way of knowing that the foreword to the book would also be an obituary. (Miklós György Serdián, editor) For further details contact the Makovecz Foundation: www.makovecz.hu(Serdián Miklós György)
